{"id":2944,"date":"2021-12-01T10:54:11","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T09:54:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grundlinien.de\/?p=2944"},"modified":"2026-03-06T17:45:35","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T16:45:35","slug":"31","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grundlinien.de\/en\/31\/","title":{"rendered":"31"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The method according to which the Concept develops itself out of itself in science, and which is only an <em>immanent<\/em> progression and production of its determinations\u2014a progression that does not happen through the assurance that various relations <em>exist<\/em>, nor through the <em>application<\/em> of the universal to such material taken up from elsewhere\u2014is here likewise presupposed from Logic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The moving principle of the Concept, as not only dissolving but also producing the particularizations of the universal, I call <em><a href=\"https:\/\/grundlinien.de\/naeherer-begriff-und-einteilung-der-logik-enz-1830\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2939\">Dialectic<\/a><\/em>\u2014dialectic, therefore, not in the sense that it dissolves, confuses, or leads back and forth an object, proposition, etc., given to feeling or to immediate consciousness in general, and is concerned only with deriving its opposite\u2014a negative mode such as frequently appears even in <em>Plato<\/em>. It may regard the opposite of a representation as its final result, or, like the ancient Skepticism, its contradiction, or even, in a duller fashion, an <em>approximation<\/em> to the truth\u2014a modern half-measure. The higher dialectic of the Concept consists in not merely producing and grasping the determination as a limit and opposite, but in producing and grasping the <em>positive<\/em> content and result out of it; for through this alone is it <em>development<\/em> and immanent progression. This dialectic, then, is not the <em>external<\/em> doing of a subjective thinking, but the <em>own soul<\/em> of the content, which organically puts forth its branches and fruits. Subjective thinking, as such, merely looks on at this development of the Idea as the proper activity of its reason, without adding any ingredient of its own.
