{"id":900265,"date":"2024-05-30T13:20:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-30T11:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grundlinien.de\/?p=900265"},"modified":"2026-08-24T10:30:22","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T08:30:22","slug":"268","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grundlinien.de\/en\/268\/","title":{"rendered":"268"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Political <em>disposition<\/em>, <em>patriotism<\/em> in general, as certainty grounded in <em>truth<\/em> (mere subjective certainty does not proceed from <em>truth<\/em> and is merely opinion) and as willing that has become <em>habit<\/em>, is only a result of the institutions subsisting within the state, in which rationality is <em>actually<\/em> present, just as this disposition acquires its practical activation through action in conformity with them. \u2014 This disposition is, in general, <em>confidence<\/em> (which may pass over into more or less cultivated insight) \u2014 the consciousness that my substantial and particular interest is preserved and contained in the interest and purpose of an other (here, the state) in its relation to me as an individual, whereby this other is, immediately, not another for me at all, and I am free in this consciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Patriotism is frequently understood to mean only a disposition to <em>extraordinary<\/em> sacrifices and actions. But essentially it is the disposition which, in the ordinary condition and circumstances of life, is habituated to knowing the commonwealth as the substantial basis and purpose. It is this consciousness, proven in all relations in the ordinary course of life, from which the disposition to extraordinary exertion is itself derived.
