The immediate reason for publishing this outline is the need to provide my students with a guide for the lectures that I deliver, in accordance with my office, on the Philosophy of Right. This textbook is a further, and especially more systematic, development of the same basic concepts that are already contained regarding this part of philosophy in the Encyclopedia of the Philosophical Sciences (Heidelberg 1817)1) which I otherwise use for my lectures.
