This website is dedicated to the acquaintance with and the cognition of Hegel’s work “Groundlines of the Philosophy of Right” from October 1820—an epoch-making work for 205 years.
The project grundlinien.de aims to contribute to the critical research and presentation of Hegel’s philosophy of right in its historical development and its manifold relations to preceding and succeeding theories, to work out its contemporary significance, and to investigate and further develop it scientifically.
The whole thing is a “work in progress”; its further “formation takes place before the public.” I am developing the website step by step.

I have been engaging with this work—on and off—for 30 years. I have been an attorney at law for 21 years and am thus familiar with the actualization of right from close proximity. “The science of right is a part of philosophy” (§ 2)…
I studied philosophy, specifically Hegel’s philosophy of right, for my Master of Arts (M.A.) and have worked on it in numerous university and non-university events, as the subject of my Master’s thesis, and as the topic of my ongoing doctoral project. My interest in Hegel’s work is both theoretical and practical.
I am a member of the Internationale Hegel-Gesellschaft e.V., the Hegel Society of America, and the Hegel Society of Great Britain.
