Rechtsanwalt (Attorney) Wilko Bauer, M.A.
Bölkendorfer Str. 36
16278 Angermünde, Germany
Phone: +49 33365-784007
Fax: +49 33365-784008
Email: wilko@grundlinien.de

2. General Information on Data Processing

grundlinien.de is a private, non-commercial project dedicated to the scholarly study and dissemination of Hegel’s Elements of the Philosophy of Right. Only the personal data necessary for operating a functioning website and for the purposes described here is processed.

3. Hosting and Server Log Files

This website is hosted by an external hosting provider. The personal data collected on this website is stored on the hosting provider’s servers. Each time this website is accessed, the hosting provider automatically collects information in so-called server log files that your browser transmits automatically. This includes in particular: IP address, date and time of the request, name and URL of the file retrieved, the website from which access occurs (referrer URL), the browser used and, where applicable, the operating system, as well as the name of the access provider. This data is processed exclusively to ensure the smooth operation of the website and to improve our offering (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is not merged with other data sources.

4. Cookies and Local Storage in Your Browser

No cookies are set for visitors who are not logged in to this website. In particular, no cookies are used for audience measurement, for recognising returning visitors or for advertising. The caching plugin in use (WP Fastest Cache) serves pre-generated pages to visitors who are not logged in without setting a cookie for that purpose; the language version follows from the address you call up, not from a cookie (see section 9).

Cookies are set only for logged-in user accounts. These are the session and preference cookies of WordPress that are technically necessary for logging in (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The switch between light and dark display stores your choice in your browser’s local storage. This entry serves solely the display you have chosen yourself, remains on your device, is not transmitted to us or to third parties, and can be deleted at any time via your browser settings.

The highlighting and note function (“My notes”) likewise stores the highlights and notes you create in your browser’s local storage. What is stored is the passage you have marked, a short stretch of text before and after it so that the place can be found again, the address and title of the page, your note and the time. Nothing is stored until you mark a passage, so the storage takes place at your express request (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). The entries remain on your device, are not transmitted to us or to third parties, and can be removed at any time individually, by means of “Delete all” in the notes window, or via your browser settings. “Export” lets you save them as a file yourself.

5. Audience Measurement (WP Statistics)

We use the WP Statistics plugin to evaluate the use of this website. It runs on the same server as the website; no data is transmitted to third parties and no cookies are set.

For each page view, the following is recorded: the page called up, the date and time, the referring page (referrer), information on browser, operating system and device type, and the country determined from the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored in clear text but exclusively as a non-reversible hash value, which serves only to group repeated visits. Requests identified as search engine crawlers or other automated access are merely counted as a number.

Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in understanding which content is read and how the website is found. Since this involves neither storing information on your device nor reading information from it, consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG is not required.

6. Google Search Console

This website is registered with Google Search Console. No program code from Google is embedded in the website, and no data from your visit is transmitted to Google. Google provides us with aggregated reports on the search queries for which the website appears in Google Search and how often it is opened from there. These reports are purely statistical and do not permit any conclusions about individual persons. The previous use of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager was discontinued on 18 September 2026.

7. Comment Function

Comments can only be submitted by persons who hold a user account on this website and are logged in; user accounts are created by us only. In addition to the comment, the time it was created, the name associated with the user account, the email address stored there and the IP address are saved. This storage takes place on the basis of our legitimate interest in being able to attribute comments and to trace them in the event of unlawful content (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

8. Contacting Us

If you contact us by email, we store the information you provide, including any contact details you supply, in order to process your inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry) or, where the inquiry is aimed at concluding a contract, on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

9. Multilingual Functionality (WPML)

This website uses the WPML plugin to provide content in German, English and Spanish. The language version is determined by the address of the respective page (for example /en/ for the English version); no cookie is set for this. There is no automatic redirection based on your browser’s language settings.

10. External Links

In places, this website contains links to external third-party websites (e.g. Wikipedia or publishers’ websites) over whose content we have no control. We accept no liability for such third-party content; the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

11. SSL Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar changes from “http://” to “https://”.

12. Your Rights

You have the right, at any time and free of charge, to request information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of the data processing, as well as a right to rectification, restriction or erasure of this data (Art. 15–17 GDPR). You further have a right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), a right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and a right to object to the processing of personal data concerning you for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). You may contact us at any time using the contact details given in the Imprint regarding these or any other questions about personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, which for Brandenburg is the Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg (LDA Brandenburg).

13. Currency and Amendment of this Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is currently valid. As the website and the offerings made through it are further developed, or due to changed legal or regulatory requirements, it may become necessary to amend this privacy policy.
