350

|349| To emerge in legal determinations and in objective institutions, proceeding from marriage and agriculture (see § 203 Anm.), is the absolute right of the Idea — whether the form of this its actualization appears as divine legislation and beneficence, or as violence and wrong; this right is the right of heroes to found states.

§ 350: The right of heroes

The Idea has an absolute right: it must come forth in laws and firm institutions. This begins with marriage and agriculture.

    How does this happen?

Sometimes it appears as divine lawgiving and as a kindness. Sometimes it appears as violence and wrong. In both cases the right of heroes to found states holds.

Summary: The Idea has the absolute right to become real in laws and institutions. This is the right of heroes to found states, whether through kindness or through violence.
