With a slight change, that adage would read:

Here is the rose, here dance.

What lies between reason as self-conscious spirit and reason as present actuality, what separates them, is the fetter of some abstraction that has not been liberated into the concept. To recognize reason as the rose in the cross of the present and thereby to delight in it—this rational insight is the reconciliation with actuality, which philosophy grants to those upon whom the inner demand has once been made to comprehend and to maintain subjective freedom in that which is substantial.
