this feeling in the form of difference, or of the being-subsumed of intuition under the concept, must itself likewise be comprehended as totality;
αα) as negative practical intuiting (labour) ββ. difference (product and possession) γγ. tool.
Practical feeling subsumed under the concept presents the moments of totality, thrown apart from one another, as reality; these moments are:
α)2) the annihilation of the object, or of intuition, but as moment, in such a way that this annihilation is replaced by another intuition or object; or the pure identity, the activity of annihilating, is fixed; in it, therefore, abstraction is made from enjoyment, i.e. it does not come to that; for here every abstraction is a reality, a being; the object is not annihilated as object in general, but in such a way that another is put in its place; for in this annihilating, as the abstraction, there is not the object, or there is not enjoyment. But this annihilating is labour; through which that which is determined by desire, insofar as it is for itself something not determined by desire, real for itself, is sublated, and the being-determined by desire is posited objectively as intuition; in labouring the difference of desire and enjoyment is posited; enjoyment is checked and deferred, it becomes ideal, or a relation, and in this relation through labour there is now immediately posited as coming forth: א) the relating of the subject to the object, or the ideal determination of the object by desire; this is taking possession; ב) then the
