|270| existence – the essence of the matter is the matter itself – Value is ringing coin. – The formal principle of reason is present. (But this money, which has the meaning of all needs, is itself only an immediate thing,) – it is the abstraction from all particularity, character etc., skill of the singular one; the disposition is this hardness of spirit in which the particular one, wholly externalized, no longer counts, – strict right, the bill of exchange must be honoured, let whatever will go to ruin – family – prosperity, life etc. – utter mercilessness – factories, manufactures found their subsistence precisely on the misery of a class – Spirit has thus become object to itself in its abstraction – as the selfless inner. But this inner is the I itself – and this I is its existence itself – the shape of the inner is not the dead thing – money, but likewise I – Or162) to spirit the state in general is object of its doing and endeavour, and purpose.
