|283| is world – but this existence is concept – being within itself, evil, and nature, the immediate, must be represented as evil, each come to the insight into his evil nature – i.e. that nature turns over into the concept, the evil, being for itself, against the essence that is in itself, but conversely [is] likewise the essence that is in itself; i.e. God appears in nature – as actual; everything beyond has fled – That, now, this opposition itself is null – evil, the actuality that is for itself, is not in itself, but is universal – this is presented precisely in the sacrifice of the divine man – α) the sacrifice of divinity, i.e. of the abstract otherworldly essence, has already taken place in its becoming actual β) the sublating of actuality the becoming of its universality187) – universal spirit – but this a representation for consciousness; – likewise γ) the universality of the self in itself – i.e. the congregation must renounce its being-for-itself and immediate nature – or regard it precisely as evil, and this view of evil sublates itself through the grasping of that representation. – Presentation in the cult;188) in which that self gives itself the consciousness of unity with the essence. – Devotion knows itself in it; cult.
