|236| recognised in itself, that he lives in the element of being-recognised, that what exists had this significance.102) β) thereby it comes about that the violated one did not suffer in his honour; the honour of the one robbed, murdered, is not injured – for he is recognised in himself; or his being-recognised is – not as in the state of nature, where honour was attacked through the violation of possession, i.e. a being-recognised that is still only in thought – verbal insult violates honour, but not absolutely; the one insulted is not without rights – in itself the man without honour is also without rights.103)
